Principle

Work with, not in spite of.

The starting point of the relationship between Entre Rios and neighbouring communities is simple and non-negotiable: respect for the legitimacy of their traditional ways of life, and for their right to continue inhabiting, working and thriving in the territory they have always inhabited.

We do not see communities as an obstacle to be navigated around, nor as the beneficiaries of a paternalistic scheme. We see them as legitimate partners in a long-term relationship — neighbours, in the full and literal sense of the word — with whom we share the very place where everything happens.

This stance has concrete consequences for our planning process. Before any structural decision on the use of the territory, we listen. When we move forward, we explain. When someone criticises us, we hear the critique and respond with substance. When some aspect of a plan generates genuine concern in the communities, we revisit that aspect.

Practices

How we sustain the dialogue.

Community dialogue is not an event — it is a sustained practice. We hold it through regular formal and informal channels.

Public presentation of plans. Whenever a significant plan or study reaches sufficient maturity to be shared, we present it publicly, in open forum, in the neighbouring communities. We do not wait for the presentation to be legally required — we do it because it is the right thing to do.

Meetings with community leaders. We maintain a direct and regular relationship with local community leaders — residents' associations, fishers' associations, religious leaders, teachers, healthcare professionals — who know first-hand the needs and concerns of their communities.

Direct contact channel. Any community member — residents, leaders, local authorities — may contact Entre Rios through public institutional channels, with the guarantee that their message is read and answered. We do not hide the company behind filters.

Discreet presence on the ground. Our technical team visits the territory regularly and is available to talk, listen and take notes. We favour the continuity of presence over the spectacle of one-off events.

Social programme

Education, health, environment.

Beyond dialogue, we maintain a programme supporting community initiatives focused on three structuring areas — chosen because in them, modest investments can have meaningful impact on local quality of life.

Education. Support to school initiatives, learning materials, pedagogical projects on the local environment, training for educators. School is, in the context of these communities, the privileged door to the future — and to knowledge of the territory.

Health. Support to community health initiatives, focused on prevention, women's and children's health, and basic care. We work alongside the public healthcare structure whenever it makes sense, avoiding duplication of effort.

Environment. Support to environmental education initiatives, waste management, recovery of community spaces, and valorisation of ecologically sound traditional practices. The environment is, by nature, common ground between the company and the communities.

We do not publish here detailed metrics of the programme — number of families supported, annual budget, specific projects — for a reason of prudence: we want the work to be substantive, not promotional. We will publish qualitative reports once we have consolidated evidence to do so seriously.

Continuity

Continuity, not replacement.

Our vision of the future for this territory is not one in which what exists is replaced by something new and foreign. It is one of coexistence between what exists and what may come.

We believe it is possible to design — with care, technique and time — a territorial project in which the arrival of new uses coexists with the maintenance of traditional activities. In which artisanal fishing continues, with greater legal certainty and better infrastructure. In which family farming continues, with access to technical resources and to markets that value its production. In which the cultural and religious practices of communities retain their own space.

We do not aim to be missionaries of development. We aim to be long-term neighbours — attentive, responsible, available. History will show whether we succeed. Our commitment is to try with the seriousness we can muster.
